Easter Extravaganza

EasterOn Easter Sunday, campers at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA RV park and campground can celebrate the risen Lord at a non-denomination worship service. In addition, the weekend will hold many delights for the entire family, including an Easter egg hunt, Easter tie-dye and bean bag toss, as well as jelly bean count, ceramics painting and sack races. Other activities include a chalk art show, ice cream social and a family movie.

As many people have a day off work on Monday, this weekend will be ideal time for a relaxing stay at our park. Aside from the Easter activities, residents can enjoy numerous sporting and recreational activities, such as tennis, basketball and shuffleboard.

Texas Woodland and Wildlife Expo & Spring Fling

treesOn March 23, the city will host the Texas Woodland and Wildlife Expo & Spring Fling, an event that will inform about how to take care of the land on which we live. Residents of Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA RV park and campground can spend an interesting day attending live demonstrations and hands-on clinics that provide eco-friendly tips. As an added plus, visitors will receive complimentary tree seedlings to plant in their backyards. Children’s activities will be available as well. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lone Star College – Montgomery, and admission is free.

Another event on March 23 is Sounds of Texas, a performance by folk icon Guy Clark. The concert by this national treasure will be presented at the Crighton Theatre.

When you’re in the mood for some good ol’ TexMex food, drop into Rancho Grande, where the eats are good and the service is friendly. They carry all your Mexican favorites plus some American entrees.

Almost Elton John and the Rockets Band

crightonResidents of Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA RV park and campground can embark on a musical journey celebrating four decades of Elton John’s hits on March 16 at the Crighton Theatre. The talented Craig Meyer will use his acting skills and musicianship to sound like the legendary star. The show starts at 7:30 and tickets are $42 to $52.

On March 16 and 17 the Paso Fino Horse Show will be held at the Lone Star Equestrian Center. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Come out and admire all the pretty horses.

Chalk Up Conroe will be held on March 16 at the Conroe Founders Plaza. In this event benefiting a Houston Breast Cancer Organization, local artists use chalk to create beautiful art on the concrete. Admission is free and the hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Painting Party

painting with a twistAttending an art lesson at Painting with a Twist is unlike any art instruction you will ever take because it’s more like a party. Residents of Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA RV park and campground will have a blast here, as this unique and trendy entertainment combines the pleasure of creating a personal masterpiece while snacking and interacting giddily with friends.

Art supplies are provided, so all patrons need to bring are munchies and friends or family members. For $35 you can reserve a spot for a class, which has a different theme each night. The theme for March 9 is Neon Stiletto and the theme for March 10 is Lighted Palms at Sunset. These events are great opportunities to learn to do something artistic while having fun with others. And who knows? Perhaps you will discover you have a hidden talent for art. Friday’s class begins at 7 p.m. and Saturday’s lesson stats at 11 a.m.

Italian food is always appealing, so drop into Buca di Beppo for a good pasta dish or pizza. The cheese garlic bread is especially tasty.
