My Three Angels

A play depicting a warm storyline is welcome entertainment anytime, but it seems especially appropriate during the Christmas season. Campers from Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA RV park and campground can enjoy this type of theatrical production on November 30 and December 1 when Crighton Theatre presents My Three Angels.

The plot involves three convicts who are hired as roofers for a family in French Guiana. Upon becoming aware that the family’s relatives intend to oust the father from his business and jilt the daughter for an heiress, the convicts set matters right. In the process they become real life angels to the family.

Before the play, stop for a bite a Vero Italian Kitchen, an eatery that a commenter on Trip Advisor says has bread sticks that are “to die for.” Along with the bread, savor an excellent meal, such as chicken parmesan or pizza.

An Italian meal followed by a great play will make for a most enjoyable evening. Visit our website and book your spot today.

Celtic Christmas

The last glorious themed weekend of the Texas Renaissance Festival is Celtic Christmas, perhaps the most enchanting time of all in this 16th century British village. Campers from Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA RV park and campground can immerse themselves in the sights, sounds and tastes of this magical season through the activities on the agenda.

Contests involve a Christmas Scavenger Hunt, Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest and Guess the Present, and musical performances include the Texas Brass and Cast in Bronze. As you meander through the village, keep a lookout for the street characters of Father Christmas, Mother Christmas and the Elves. And be sure and visit the shoppes, which will be dressed in holiday décor.

Best of all, stop at the King’s Chapel to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas that underlies all of our beloved traditions. It is the remembrance of this that gives joy to the season.

In the Wharfside Music Gazebo, entertainment will be presented by Crannog, performers who play Scottish, Medieval and Irish music. The festivity also involves stage performances that include The Sturdy Beggars Mud Show at the Med Pit and Sholo at the Barbarian Inn. Adding to the appeal and interest of the event, street characters called The Barbarian Horde will be in the area.

Another local event on November 9 and 10 is the SHSU NIRA Rodeoto, which will be held in the Lone Star Expo Center in Conroe. This is a college rodeo presenting saddle bronc riding and bareback riding, as well as roping steering and bull riding.
