The King and I

Anytime you have an opportunity to attend a play based on a Rogers and Hammerstein musical, you’re in for an evening of stellar entertainment. On August 24 and 25 at 8 p.m., campers at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA RV park and campground can travel vicariously to 1860s Bangkok through the Crighton Players’ performance of The King and I. The play relates the story of Anna, a British schoolteacher, who is hired to teach English to the children of the King of Siam. She and the kind experience conflict, which later turns into love that neither can express. Exquisite songs like “Hello Young Lovers” and “I Have Dreamed” beautifully reveal the emotions of the characters.

You may want to stop at Joe’s Pizza and Pasta for a great New York style Italian meal before the show. Customers on Trip Advisor rank it as the top restaurant in the Conroe area.
